Ok, this thing won't let me upload RealAudio. That being said, does anyone have either:
A simple L/R audio capture device and software that will allow me to capture just audio (I bought one that requires a video feed)
or a good program to rip audio from hi-quality videos? I tried Premiere but whenever I export audio I get nothing but clicks.
I captured a bunch of awful binary manifesto stuff from the Triton using Invasion of the Body Snatchers as a video feed, some of its pretty cool. But I need to turn the audio into mp3s.

Thanks, Ken ... I'll rename the 'gub' file and test it on a page first to make sure it's not the file. I was considering doing something like that for the page anyway, as I've been listening to the .mp3s in my car and they all suck.
Thanks again for figuring it out.

Ok, I resurrected this page to - I think - the last edit Luke made. After a lot of copy/paste/previewing, I narrowed it down to this line causing the page to hang: "Media:Gub_(dt_sessions).mp3|gub". Why would that happen? Got me, but it even happens on here if I try to paste it in with the brackets.
I noticed the play buttons make the songs play super-fast, and it's because most of the mp3s (all the ones I tried anyway) are very low bitrate. I'm not sure what rate they need to be to play properly through that PlayTagger script, but I'd guess around 128.
What I think we should do with this media section is post good quality files on archive.org and just link them here, with the streaming button next to them for people who don't want to download a whole 30 meg (or whatever) mp3. Also I should set up an RSS feed so people can automatically download each new track you post. --ken 11:55, 15 Jan 2006 (EST)
I need a vote: do we want "Up" posted in entirety? That is, the versions of tracks that already exist on this site that blend into each other? Also, Dave, do you happen to still have any of the data from the cd, like the liner notes, cover, etc?
Edit: Also: anyone else noticed the play buttons play the songs at like 4x speed? It sounds kind of cool. We should cover some of our own songs that way. --Luke 03:46, 23 Dec 2005 (EST)
I like it. It's much more interesting to look at.--Ed 10:19, 20 Dec 2005 (EST)
What do you guys think? It needs to be cleaned up, obviously, but the general idea of making the files sort of chronological or organized? --Luke 01:15, 20 Dec 2005 (EST)
Bandwidth shouldn't be a problem, but if it becomes an issue, you can host stuff on archive.org. That's where I put the UNH episodes. --ken 01:58, 20 Jun 2005 (CDT)
The form has now been working for me. I haven't tried Feynman's Last Stand yet though. Will we be putting a strain on bandwidth with all these large files? I'd like to make a contribution, if so ... --Luke 00:21, 20 Jun 2005 (CDT)
I can set up an FTP login to upload big files that don't work so well as form uploads. --ken 16:06, 19 Jun 2005 (CDT)
Q: Is it possible to upload video files as I have a sweet mpg of ed playing the bagpipes.
A: Yeah, I just uploaded this video of Jon vomitting. That vid was 4 megs and it uploaded OK via the form.
It's probably the size ... I can pare down the demos significantly. They range from 3.5 - 10 mb (the ones I've tried) --Luke 10:59, 19 Jun 2005 (CDT)
How big are the files? I might need to set it allow larger uploads. (I'm not sure what the default is.) Oh, also, what's the file name? --ken 02:39, 19 Jun 2005 (CDT)
Often, while uploading, I get this message:
The file you uploaded seems to be empty. This might be due to a typo in the file name. Please check whether you really want to upload this file.
The files are neither empty nor typo'd. (I used browse to find the files).
Any thoughts? --Luke 02:03, 19 Jun 2005 (CDT)
[edit] Live shows
Luke I think we should post the long jams here as they are essentially "live"
